Victory Detailing is no stranger to the Ford Explorer! We recently detailed this 2008 Ford Explorer located in West Babylon, NY. This vehicle was in mint condition when we found it. The owner had just leased the vehicle and was excited to have it detailed for the winter season on Long Island.

After washing, clay barring, and waxing the car, we were able to add a level of protection to prevent the paint from looking dull or the clear coat from swirling. The elements on Long Island during the winter season can be harsh. Sometimes, all it takes is the application of a high quality wax to maintain the appearance of the exterior. Combined with the use of a waterless car wash to preserve the original look and you have the recipe to keep your paint looking radiant for years to come.

The interior of this Ford Explorer was also in great condition. We treated the dash area and polished the windows and door jams before conditioning the leather seats.

This Ford Explorer was in showroom condition when the owner of the vehicle returned to pick it up. We’ve detailed many vehicles in West Babylon, and hope to service more clients in that area and other surrounding towns on Long Island. Another job well-done by Victory Detailing!

This 2009 GMC Yukon located in Mineola was recently detailed by Victory Detailing. There is a lot of surface area on full-size SUV’s so we knew we had our work cut out for us. We started this detailing job by washing the vehicle down and taking a clay bar to painted surfaces. It’s smart to remove all surface contaminants before applying a coat of wax on the paint.

We used the Porter Cable 7424xp to apply a coat of wax from Auto Glym. After removing the wax with clean microfiber towels, we moved onto the interior of the SUV. We started vacuuming the inside of the vehicle and all carpeted areas. There were many areas for us to remain conscious of while detailing the interior. After treating the dashboard area and polishing the glass, we took care of the “final touches” before presenting the vehicle to our client.

We usually polish the exterior glass and apply a coat of tire shine prior to presenting our work to clients. Everyone was pleased with the results and we hope to service this Yukon again in the near future. Another job well-done by Victory Detailing.

Victory Detailing is always up for a challenge with respect to boat and marine detailing on Long Island. The hull on this Rinker Captiva 232 was dull, oxidized, and required the work of a marine detailing specialist. Our task was to restore the appearance of the hull as it was oxidizing prematurely.

We washed the hull of the boat with a marine concentrate from Woody’s. Next, we compounded the entire hull with a high-quality compound from Malco. The Tru-Grit compound was applied with a Mikita Rotary buffer and a wool pad. The red colored fiberglass really shined up after the compound was removed. The oxidation was removed entirely and the color really brightened up.

Next, we applied a coat of carnauba based wax from Garry’s. The wax added a level of protection to the fiberglass as well as maintaining the level of shine and luster.

The owner of this boat was excited that the hull was no longer oxidized and protected for the winter. We hope to detail this Rinker Captiva in the spring after we remove the shrink wrap covering. Another Long Island boat detailing job completed by the team at Victory Detailing!

We recently detailed a 1983 Aquasport called “Final Frontier” in West Babylon, NY. This boat had been kept within a family and is now undergoing a full restoration. The owner of the boat hopes to have the boat dropped in the water by August of this season. We were called to duty to restore the hull and top side of this 29 ft. boat.

This boat was in poor condition and very dirty. There was heavy oxidation on the hull, black streaks and rust marks. We started with washing and scrubbing all fiberglass and gel coated surfaces to remove the dirt and grime. We spent a little extra time during this phase as the boat was extremely dirty. After rinsing all the dirt off, we dried all surfaces to prevent water spots from developing as it was a sunny day.

We took a heavy compound to the hull to remove the oxidation and strip through any surface contaminants that might be still be on the fiberglass. After compounding, we hit some areas with black streak remover to ensure a clean hull before applying wax. We moved up to the top side of the boat and applied and removed compound there was well. There were rust stains on the fiberglass around the cleats so we use our rust stain remover to ensure that the surfaces were clean and spot free.

The application of wax went smoothly as we were applying to a clean and bare fiberglass surface. The removal of the wax left the gel coat protected and slick to the touch. This was a major improvement from the condition we found the boat in. We followed the same process on the top side of the boat and finished with polishing the chrome pieces.

The owner was very pleased with the results and mentioned that the condition of the boat resembled what it looked like when it was acquired in 1991. The boats “new look” gave him the motivation to proceed with purchasing a new transmission and continue with the restoration process. We were equally pleased with the results as this boat transformed from dirty to clean and protected on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

Jeep Grand Cherokee’s are always a pleasure to detail. We recently detailed a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited in North Babylon, NY. This Jeep had it’s typical wear and tear. The owner explained that she had a terrible experience at a local car wash the last time it was detailed. Additionally, she didn’t care for having to drop off the truck, find a ride home, and return back to the car wash again to pick it up. Calling Victory Detailing (mobile professionals!) was clearly the right choice.

We started with rinsing down the car and scrubbing it. The only area that needed additional attention was the wheels. Jeep wheels are tough to work on as they become pitted, stained, and caked with brake dust. You can get them looking new again, but it takes time and agitation with stiff bristle wheel brush to deliver results. After rinsing and drying we took a clay bar to the Jeep Grand Cherokee’s painted surfaces. The clay worked well on the white paint and got into the cracks where we molded the clay to fit. If clay was not used on this car, dirt would have forever remained in the majority of tight spaces between the molding, weather stripping, etc.

After we removed the carnauba-based wax, the paint felt nourished, treated, and protected. There was a noticeable difference in the shine we created after wax removal. We finished by treating the vinyl, rubber, and plastic trim. We also treated the tires and protected the wheels. After the exterior glass was polished, we tackled the interior.

The interior was in good shape for the most part. The only source of concern the owner had was the condition of the door panels. (As left in poor condition from the last detailing job) There were white streaks that appear to have been created from a cheap “armor-all” type product that was never wiped off. We were able to removed the stains from the door panels and leave them with a brilliant shine.

We left our signature air freshener (new car scent!) in the Jeep and asked the owner to give the vehicle a glance over. She was very happy and impressed with our work as she told us “she hasn’t seen it looking this good since it was new!” We were pleased with the results and hope to detailing her 39 ft. RV in the near future.

We enjoyed detailing this Donzi Daytona as we’ve always favored the styling and attention to detail Donzi has been creating for years. This 23 ft. center console Donzi with dual outboards was detailed at a boat yard in Amityville, NY.

We started with rinsing down the entire boat and scrubbing with hull cleaner to break down rust and stains under the water line. Next we scrubbed down the interior of the boat inside of all compartments. This took the most time as there were many dirty small compartments around the center console area. After rinsing out the dirt, we dried the entire boat down preparing for a coat of wax.

The gel coat on this Donzi was in superb condition. The owner requested that we do not compound the boat and just treat it with a high quality wax to bring out the shine and protect it from the elements. After the wax was removed from the hull, there was a noticeable difference when touching the fiberglass. (Slick and free of surface contaminants) Additionally, the white color became highly reflective.

The interior of the boat came out every similar to the hull after removing the wax. We wrapped up the interior by treating the leather / vinyl surfaces, cleaning the canvas, polishing chrome pieces, and detailing the dashboard area.

There was a threat of rain the day we detailed the Donzi, but we were able to complete it before showers arrived. The pictures we took were dramatic as storm clouds were moving in. We hope to detail this Donzi next season and preserve the look of this beautifully designed center console boat.

On Friday we were asked to detail a 2004 Mazda 6 in West Babylon, NY. This car needed to be detailed as the owner was heading to New Jersey for a Mazda 6 car club meet. If you have ever been part of a car club having your ride freshly detailed is important as many pictures are taken.

We found the car in good condition, but with light water marks and surface contaminants on the paint. This week we didn’t have a lot of rain so there was also a fair amount of dust on the car as well. We rinsed the car down in preparation of treating it with our premium car wash formula. After a thorough wash and scrub we dried the car down with microfiber towels to make sure that we did not add any swirl marks to the paint.

Next, we took a clay bar to the painted surfaces. The clay removed light scratches, swirls, and surface contamination. We washed the car again to remove the lingering clay residue and any dirt that had not been removed. To finish up the exterior a high quality carnauba based was applied and removed with microfiber. The surface was left clean, protected and with a brilliant shine.

The interior of the car was vacuumed to remove loose dirt and debris from the carpets, seats, and console areas. The Mazda 6 is a well designed car that didn’t have hard to reach crevices. We treated the dashboard, vinyl, and plastic to bring the shine back. The leather seats were also treated as well. We finished up by polishing the windows and spraying the carpets and mats with our odor remover to keep the interior smelling fresh.

This car turned into a real head turned after we were finished with it. Many people in the neighborhood stopped and took a look for themselves. The owner of the vehicle was happy with the results and we hope the car’s shine outdid the others at the Mazda 6 meet that followed on Saturday afternoon.

This weekend we detailed a 1992 Capri bow rider in Massapequa Park, NY. This boat was recently acquired by a family who would like to become more familiar with boats. Additionally, their 16 year old son has passed his boat certification (congratulations!) test and will be operating this boat in the Great South Bay of Long Island, NY. Upon discovery this boat was really dirty, however with some detailing work put into it, it would be a great first boat to learn on.

We started with a complete wash and scrub of the hull and interior of the boat. As this boat was only 17 feet long we were able to tackle both areas simultaneously. The majority of dirt came off with scrubbing and the boat rinsed clean. Next, all fiberglass areas were compounded. The compound bought new life to the blue coloring, which had been heavily oxidized. We finished up the exterior of the boat by applying a high quality marine wax to protect the boat from the elements and add extra shine.

The interior of this boat was also very dirty as the original carpets were dirty and worn from heavy traffic over the years. The carpets were first shampooed and scrubbed. Next we hosed the carpets down to remove dirt. We continued by scrubbing the carpet using spot treatments and removing excess water from the shop vacuum. The condition of the carpets changed drastically.

The owner of the boat was very pleased with the results. Though his son was not present to see the boat for himself, we hope that when he returns he will be pleased with the results and become excited about boating this summer and continue learning about proper boat care and maintenance.

Detailing this 1986 IROC-Z was a pleasure as the car had been off the road for a number of years. When we found it was very dirty and covered with dust. The gentleman who owns the vehicle told us this was his first car so there was a lot of sentimental value behind it.

We began by washing the vehicle thoroughly with our heavy dirt car wash solution. This took most of the dirt off the car as it was washed off with the water. At this time the paint was not fully clean as the clay bar hasn’t touched the paint. We dried the car down and worked on the interior next.

The interior was in pretty good condition when we found it. There was a musty odor on the cloth interior that needed to be removed as well as all upholstery shampooed. The dash and all the trimmings were treated and came back to life. After deodorizing and polishing the glass, we sealed the car up with our signature “new car scent” air freshener.

Taking the clay bar to this paint is where the magic happened. The clay bar (with the help our lubricating polish) was able to pick up much of fine dust particles on top of the paint. We gave the car a second washing to remove the clay bar residue and prep the car for waxing. The car was now in a “bare state” and ready to work on with wax

Black paint is usually tough to get perfect when it comes to wax. I found that a through clay bar job on the paint will save adding multiple coats of wax and spending more time adding layers. Simply put, on very dirty cars with black paint, using the clay bar is a must. The paint really popped off the car when the wax was removed.

This 1986 IROC Z really shined up. The owner of the vehicle plans to let his son drive it and pass the torch on. It’s admirable that he held onto the car for so long and kept it well-maintained. The hand-painted brake calipers really stood out after we polished the wheels and shined the tires. All plastic trim was treated and we gave the car a final “once over” polishing the glass and the body.

Last week we detailed a 2000 Rinker 36 ft. boat in Seaford, NY. The boat was in the water and we were tasked with detailing the topside, (from the rub rail and above) as well as the cockpit and cabin area. This boat had some gel coat issues from the previous owner and some dings that needed special attention. We started with washing and scrubbing all exterior fiberglass surfaces where much of the dirt and grime was present and needed to be removed.

After the boat rinsed clean we applied a coat of high quality marine wax to protect and shine the fiberglass. After removal of the wax we repeated the process in the cockpit around of the boat. The fiberglass we left clean, smooth, and glossy after the wax had been removed. The cabin area really needed a thorough cleaning. There were a few heavy stains on the carpets that we were able to remove. The owner of the boat was pleased as one carpet stain in particular had been removed.

The bathroom of this boat was dirty and required our full attention. We spent some extra time sanitizing that area as there were issues with the fresh water line coming to the toilet. After rinsing down all surfaces, the bathroom was back in condition to be used again.

This boat cleaned up nicely as we detailed every interior surface. This boat is used heavily on the weekends as friends enjoy it for recreation and party. It was evident that there had been some heavy foot traffic on the boat as there were many scuff marks on the moldings that we were able to remove. We took a few pictures for wrapping things up. Another quality job by Victory Detailing!
