We enjoyed detailing this Donzi Daytona as we’ve always favored the styling and attention to detail Donzi has been creating for years. This 23 ft. center console Donzi with dual outboards was detailed at a boat yard in Amityville, NY.
We started with rinsing down the entire boat and scrubbing with hull cleaner to break down rust and stains under the water line. Next we scrubbed down the interior of the boat inside of all compartments. This took the most time as there were many dirty small compartments around the center console area. After rinsing out the dirt, we dried the entire boat down preparing for a coat of wax.
The gel coat on this Donzi was in superb condition. The owner requested that we do not compound the boat and just treat it with a high quality wax to bring out the shine and protect it from the elements. After the wax was removed from the hull, there was a noticeable difference when touching the fiberglass. (Slick and free of surface contaminants) Additionally, the white color became highly reflective.
The interior of the boat came out every similar to the hull after removing the wax. We wrapped up the interior by treating the leather / vinyl surfaces, cleaning the canvas, polishing chrome pieces, and detailing the dashboard area.
There was a threat of rain the day we detailed the Donzi, but we were able to complete it before showers arrived. The pictures we took were dramatic as storm clouds were moving in. We hope to detail this Donzi next season and preserve the look of this beautifully designed center console boat.
On Friday we were asked to detail a 2004 Mazda 6 in West Babylon, NY. This car needed to be detailed as the owner was heading to New Jersey for a Mazda 6 car club meet. If you have ever been part of a car club having your ride freshly detailed is important as many pictures are taken.
We found the car in good condition, but with light water marks and surface contaminants on the paint. This week we didn’t have a lot of rain so there was also a fair amount of dust on the car as well. We rinsed the car down in preparation of treating it with our premium car wash formula. After a thorough wash and scrub we dried the car down with microfiber towels to make sure that we did not add any swirl marks to the paint.
Next, we took a clay bar to the painted surfaces. The clay removed light scratches, swirls, and surface contamination. We washed the car again to remove the lingering clay residue and any dirt that had not been removed. To finish up the exterior a high quality carnauba based was applied and removed with microfiber. The surface was left clean, protected and with a brilliant shine.
The interior of the car was vacuumed to remove loose dirt and debris from the carpets, seats, and console areas. The Mazda 6 is a well designed car that didn’t have hard to reach crevices. We treated the dashboard, vinyl, and plastic to bring the shine back. The leather seats were also treated as well. We finished up by polishing the windows and spraying the carpets and mats with our odor remover to keep the interior smelling fresh.
This car turned into a real head turned after we were finished with it. Many people in the neighborhood stopped and took a look for themselves. The owner of the vehicle was happy with the results and we hope the car’s shine outdid the others at the Mazda 6 meet that followed on Saturday afternoon.
This weekend we detailed a 1992 Capri bow rider in Massapequa Park, NY. This boat was recently acquired by a family who would like to become more familiar with boats. Additionally, their 16 year old son has passed his boat certification (congratulations!) test and will be operating this boat in the Great South Bay of Long Island, NY. Upon discovery this boat was really dirty, however with some detailing work put into it, it would be a great first boat to learn on.
We started with a complete wash and scrub of the hull and interior of the boat. As this boat was only 17 feet long we were able to tackle both areas simultaneously. The majority of dirt came off with scrubbing and the boat rinsed clean. Next, all fiberglass areas were compounded. The compound bought new life to the blue coloring, which had been heavily oxidized. We finished up the exterior of the boat by applying a high quality marine wax to protect the boat from the elements and add extra shine.
The interior of this boat was also very dirty as the original carpets were dirty and worn from heavy traffic over the years. The carpets were first shampooed and scrubbed. Next we hosed the carpets down to remove dirt. We continued by scrubbing the carpet using spot treatments and removing excess water from the shop vacuum. The condition of the carpets changed drastically.
The owner of the boat was very pleased with the results. Though his son was not present to see the boat for himself, we hope that when he returns he will be pleased with the results and become excited about boating this summer and continue learning about proper boat care and maintenance.

Detailing this 1986 IROC-Z was a pleasure as the car had been off the road for a number of years. When we found it was very dirty and covered with dust. The gentleman who owns the vehicle told us this was his first car so there was a lot of sentimental value behind it.
We began by washing the vehicle thoroughly with our heavy dirt car wash solution. This took most of the dirt off the car as it was washed off with the water. At this time the paint was not fully clean as the clay bar hasn’t touched the paint. We dried the car down and worked on the interior next.
The interior was in pretty good condition when we found it. There was a musty odor on the cloth interior that needed to be removed as well as all upholstery shampooed. The dash and all the trimmings were treated and came back to life. After deodorizing and polishing the glass, we sealed the car up with our signature “new car scent” air freshener.
Taking the clay bar to this paint is where the magic happened. The clay bar (with the help our lubricating polish) was able to pick up much of fine dust particles on top of the paint. We gave the car a second washing to remove the clay bar residue and prep the car for waxing. The car was now in a “bare state” and ready to work on with wax
Black paint is usually tough to get perfect when it comes to wax. I found that a through clay bar job on the paint will save adding multiple coats of wax and spending more time adding layers. Simply put, on very dirty cars with black paint, using the clay bar is a must. The paint really popped off the car when the wax was removed.
This 1986 IROC Z really shined up. The owner of the vehicle plans to let his son drive it and pass the torch on. It’s admirable that he held onto the car for so long and kept it well-maintained. The hand-painted brake calipers really stood out after we polished the wheels and shined the tires. All plastic trim was treated and we gave the car a final “once over” polishing the glass and the body.
Last week we detailed a 2000 Rinker 36 ft. boat in Seaford, NY. The boat was in the water and we were tasked with detailing the topside, (from the rub rail and above) as well as the cockpit and cabin area. This boat had some gel coat issues from the previous owner and some dings that needed special attention. We started with washing and scrubbing all exterior fiberglass surfaces where much of the dirt and grime was present and needed to be removed.
After the boat rinsed clean we applied a coat of high quality marine wax to protect and shine the fiberglass. After removal of the wax we repeated the process in the cockpit around of the boat. The fiberglass we left clean, smooth, and glossy after the wax had been removed. The cabin area really needed a thorough cleaning. There were a few heavy stains on the carpets that we were able to remove. The owner of the boat was pleased as one carpet stain in particular had been removed.
The bathroom of this boat was dirty and required our full attention. We spent some extra time sanitizing that area as there were issues with the fresh water line coming to the toilet. After rinsing down all surfaces, the bathroom was back in condition to be used again.
This boat cleaned up nicely as we detailed every interior surface. This boat is used heavily on the weekends as friends enjoy it for recreation and party. It was evident that there had been some heavy foot traffic on the boat as there were many scuff marks on the moldings that we were able to remove. We took a few pictures for wrapping things up. Another quality job by Victory Detailing!
